JANSEN® HS-22A62E Electric Log Splitter – 22 metric tons of splitting force, 62 cm & 400V
The JANSEN® HS-22A62E is a heavy-duty, robustly built electric log splitter with 22 metric tons of measured splitting force and a maximum splitting length of 62 cm. The hydraulic system is powered by a 2.2 kW 400V electric motor (16 A).
The electric motor and hydraulic pump are designed to work in harmony, enabling high hydraulic splitting performance despite the motor’s comparatively modest power output. At the same time, the electric drive allows for quieter operation compared to the gasoline-powered version.
A key advantage of the HS-22A62E is its flexible operation: The log splitter can be operated both in an upright position and in a horizontal position. This allows the working position to be adapted to the wood being processed and the specific work situation.
The splitting force of our log splitters is measured directly at the splitting wedge. The specified 22 metric tons therefore corresponds to the splitting force actually measured there.

22 metric tons measured splitting force
The JANSEN® HS-22A62E achieves a splitting force of 22 metric tons. The measurement is taken directly at the splitting wedge and thus reflects the actual splitting force applied there.
The maximum splitting length is 62 cm. Combined with the 30 cm-long splitting wedge and the robust hydraulic system, the wood splitter is designed to process firewood of this length.
Splitting in an upright or horizontal position
The HS-22A62E can be operated both in an upright position and in a horizontal position. This provides two different working positions.
In the upright position, the dimensions are approximately 218 x 106 x 182 cm. In the horizontal position, the log splitter measures approx. 220 x 106 x 128 cm.
With a total width of approx. 106 cm, the log splitter can also be transported on a suitable trailer.
400V electric motor with 2.2 kW
The hydraulic pump of the JANSEN® HS-22A62E is driven by a 400V electric motor with 2.2 kW. A corresponding 16-A power supply is required for connection.
The coordination between the electric motor and the hydraulic pump enables a high hydraulic splitting force of 22 metric tons. At the same time, the electric drive offers quieter operation compared to a gasoline engine.
30 cm Splitting Wedge & Splitting Cross
The HS-22A62E is equipped with a 30 cm long splitting wedge. Additionally, a 30 cm long splitting cross is included in the scope of delivery.
The splitting cross is slid over the existing splitting wedge, allowing for a quick switch between the splitting wedge and the splitting cross.
When using the splitting cross, please note that the log diameters that can be processed may be smaller than when working with the standard splitting wedge.
Flexibly Controllable Hydraulics
The hydraulic system of the JANSEN® HS-22A62E allows the splitting wedge to be stopped in various positions. From there, it can be moved either forward or backward as desired.
This means that, for example, when working with shorter pieces of wood, the splitting wedge does not need to be fully retracted to its starting position after every work cycle. Unnecessary idle travel can thus be reduced.
A full downward stroke of the cylinder is specified to take approximately 8 seconds.
Transport & Maneuvering
The HS-22A62E features a towing drawbar and hitch, allowing it to be moved and maneuvered at the job site. The maximum specified towing speed is 25 km/h.
Please note: The log splitter is not street-legal and therefore must not be towed behind a passenger car on public roads in Germany.
For transport on public roads, the machine can, for example, be loaded onto a suitable trailer using appropriate ramps and secured accordingly.

Delivery & Commissioning
The JANSEN® HS-22A62E is delivered well-protected and partially disassembled in a wooden crate. Allow approximately 3–4 hours for final assembly.
Due to the weight of the individual components, assembly should be performed by at least two people. A German operating manual and exploded view diagrams are included with the delivery.
Approx. 9.5 liters of hydraulic oil are additionally required for the initial fill.HLP46 hydraulic oil is recommended.

Auf ebenem Untergrund ist das händische Rangieren etwas Mühsam, aber es geht. Die Verarbeitung einschließlich der Lackierung machen einen guten Eindruck.
Weil ich ja wissen wollte was das Ding so kann, bin ich mit 10 Jahre abgelagerter knorriger, beasteter Eiche angefangen. An den Stammdurchmesser von über 60 cm habe ich mich mit der Axt nämlich nie ran getraut.
Was soll ich jetzt groß schreiben? Er kann!
Das Handling ist einwandfrei, er läßt sich in jeder Position anhalten und kann alleine zurückfahren während man das neue Stück Holz schon wieder einlegen kann. Ich bin zwar neu im „Spaltergeschäft“, aber für mich ist das Teil tip, topp und das Geld absolut wert.

Lieferung: ich habe den Spalter am letzten Freitag bestellt, am darauffolgenden Dienstag wurde er mir per Spedition zugestellt... so schnell hatte ich damit nicht gerechnet. Wenn man was schlechtes finden möchte, wäre das einzige vielleicht, dass die Spedition vorher nicht angerufen hat, wie angekündigt.
Montage: Die Montage ist einfach. Ich habe mit meinem Sohn da ca. 2 Stunden für gebraucht. Als Hinweis... sobald man die Stopfen von den Ölschläuchen nimmt, fließt ein wenig Restöl heraus, entweder man darf nicht empfindlich sein, oder man sollte dringend etwas darunter legen.
Spalten: darüber kann ich noch nicht viel sagen, aber es funktioniert. Als Vorteile zu meinem bisherigen Spalter kann ich sagen: Der Spaltkeil fährt sehr weit bis an die Fußplatte heran. Ich kann den Spaltkeil an jeder Stelle anhalten.
Super Gerät!
Der Zusammenbau war mit Hilfe meines Nachbarn und dessen Flaschenzug, wie beschrieben, einfach und schnell erledigt. Probespaltungen wetterbedingt 3 Tage später an Eichenholzklötzen vom letzten Jahr. Einwandfrei. Seit heute (3.2.22) ist es jetzt ernst geworden. Frisch geschlagene Buchenstücke, Durchmesser 60 bis 100 cm und 30 bis 33cm hoch, rangerollt und auf Plattform gewuchtet. Dauert etwa 30 min bis so eine Scheibe in kamintaugliche Stücke gespalten ist. Mit der Axt brauchte ich dafür früher gerne bis zu 2 Stunden, wenn überhaupt. In einigen Scheiben waren Äste drin, die ich mit der Axt nicht hätte spalten können. Mit dem Spalter ging das problemlos. Meine Frau und ich sind restlos begeistert.

Nach einem Anruf ist mir ein neuer Spaltkeil unkompliziert zugeschickt worden. Toller Service. Danke. Den Holzspalter kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. Danke liebes Jansen-Team

Die Bedienhebel sind nur über eine Hydraulikleitung mit der Maschine verbunden hier muss nachgebessert werden. 2. Die Hydraulikleitungen vom Ventil zum Motor und zum Tank sind nicht ausreichend sicher zu verlegen. Hier fehlt ein vorgegebener Leitungsweg der auch eine sichere Verlegung ermöglicht!
