The JANSEN® AS-400K is a hydraulically driven branch saw for the efficient pruning of trees, shrubs, and woody plants. With three carbide-tipped saw blades, an effective cutting width of approx. 900 mm, and a maximum branch thickness of 80 mm, it is suitable for demanding cutting tasks in landscaping and tree care.

The hydraulic drive and V-belt power transmission ensure smooth operation of the saw blades and a clean cut. This allows branches to be cut quickly and precisely.

Important: This offer includes only the saw head with hydraulic motor. A carrier unit or vehicle-specific mount is not included in this offer.

Whether pruning trees, maintaining hedges, or clearing brush: The JANSEN® AS-400K ensures a fast and smooth workflow.

The three saw blades provide an effective cutting width of approximately 900 mm. Each blade has a diameter of 400 mm, is carbide-tipped, and features 72 teeth.

Thanks to its hydraulic drive system and V-belt power transmission, this branch saw is characterized by smooth operation and a clean cut.

Important application note: Thick branches must always be cut from top to bottom to prevent the saw blades from jamming.

Hydraulic Drive and Technical Requirements

The JANSEN® AS-400K is hydraulically driven. Operation requires a hydraulic oil flow rate of at least 40 l/min. The maximum operating pressure is 160 bar.

The carrier vehicle must be equipped with a double-acting hydraulic control unit and a drain line.

Depending on operating conditions and requirements, an operating speed of approximately 2 to 7 km/h is recommended.

Compatibility with JANSEN® carrier vehicles

The saw head is compatible with the following JANSEN® machines, among others:

• JANSEN® HMS-80 – hydraulic rear mulcher
• JANSEN® HMS-100 – hydraulic rear mulcher
• JANSEN® THS-180 – tractor hedge trimmer for front loaders

If you wish to use the branch saw on a different carrier vehicle, you must organize or fabricate a suitable mounting bracket on your own. Before use, check the hydraulic requirements and mechanical compatibility.

Hole spacing and mounting dimensions of the saw head

The mounting dimensions of the saw head are particularly important for designing a suitable mounting bracket. The following original diagram of the JANSEN® AS-400K shows the hole spacing and diagonal dimensions of the mounting plate.

The drawing contains the following dimensions:

Scope of Delivery

The offer includes the JANSEN® AS-400K saw head, including hydraulic motor.

Not included: carrier vehicle and vehicle-specific mounting bracket. If the saw head is to be used on a customer’s own carrier vehicle, a suitable mounting bracket must be provided by the customer.

Delivery & Commissioning

The JANSEN® AS-400K is delivered well-packaged and disassembled in a wooden crate.

You should plan on about one hour for final assembly. Assembly is relatively simple and can be performed even by individuals without specialized assembly experience.

Before commissioning, ensure that the unit is properly secured to the carrier vehicle and that the necessary hydraulic connections are in place. In particular, take into account the required oil flow rate, the permissible operating pressure, the double-acting control unit, and the oil drain line.

5. Is the JANSEN® AS-400K delivered fully assembled?

No. The branch saw is shipped disassembled and well-protected in a wooden crate. Allow approximately 60 minutes for final assembly. The scope of delivery includes the saw head with hydraulic motor, but does not include a carrier vehicle or a vehicle-specific mounting bracket.
